Usually Labor Day is the finish to the summer. We get to extend our summer into mid September with our last vacation of the season. In less than 72 hours, the husband and I will be on a plane headed to the Sunshine State. We are celebrating his birthday with 4 days in Miami (thank goodness for frequent flier miles). Although we are leaving plenty of free time on this trip to enjoy as much of the beach as we can, we do have a few spots we would like to visit while traveling.
With today being Travel Thursday, it is the best time to share the plans we have for Miami, Florida.
Wynwood Art Walk – This monthly event happens to fall on the weekend we will be in town. In the Wynwood District, the area contains live art, exhibits, concerts and live events at restaurants. This unique event is one that I have continued to read is one you must experience because words cannot describe all that goes on.
Perez Art Museum Miami – Museums are always something I look forward to when traveling. The Perez museum has art collections from the 20th and 21st centuries boasting the reflection of the cosmopolitan makeup of Miami. With additional special exhibits for a limited time, the museum will be an educational addition to our trip.
Biscayne Bay – We have plans to spend some time in the bay where we will be doing some stand-up paddle boarding. With plenty of water activities in the area, we will get our fitness in while enjoying a new place.
Everglades Tour – This is definitely what I am most excited about! I cannot wait to hold a baby alligator and cruise on a boat in the Everglades. One of my highlights from New Orleans was our swamp tour and after reading about the Everglades Tour I know this will be one of my Miami highlights.
If you have visited Miami and have any suggestions for things to do, restaurants to eat at or beaches to visit, be sure to share!
Tell me: Have you been to Florida- any suggestions for places we need to visit?
